BRAZILIAN CARNIVAL IS ON

32 goals scored and only 7 conceded: Brazil were worthy champions at Buenos Aires 2018. The 4-1 win against Russia in the finale saw the South Americans win the first ever men's futsal gold medal at the Youth Olympics.

Guilhermao flies high

Tall, skillful and strong. The giant Guilhermao was a nightmare for all of his opponents and ended up as the tournament's top scorer with 11 goals in six games. Russia's Danil Karpiuk (7) and Egypt's Belal Elsayed (7) trailed him.

We worked hard to get here. This medal means a lot, not only personally but for Brazil and our futsal

Egyptian dream

An impressive comeback in the last game against Argentina (5-4) allowed the Africans to claim a celebrated Bronze medal. The Egyptians drew with the hosts 2-2 earlier in the tournament.

Argentinean pain

The hosts were so close to a medal but succumbed to defeat in two remarkable matches against Brazil and Egypt and ended up empty-handed...

Solomon Islands went out in the group stage, but definitely did not go unnoticed. The OFC representatives were ‘adopted’ by the Argentinean fans, meaning they could count on massive support in all of their games.

Did we mention FANS? The halls were full every day, including queues for hours to watch the men's semi-final between Argentina and Brazil. A big success in Buenos Aires!
