The lists:
The FIFA Football Committee drew up lists of 23 players and ten coaches for the two men’s awards. Likewise, the Committee for Women’s Football and the FIFA Women’s World Cup compiled a list of ten players and ten coaches for the two women’s awards.

The awards for the aforementioned categories were chosen by an international jury consisting of national team captains, national coaches, members of the media and, for the first time ever, football fans. Each of these four groups of voters (coaches, captains, media, fans) accounted for 25 per cent of the total vote.

In deliberating over the 2016 FIFA Fan Award, a panel of experts picked out the three most spectacular and emotional moments witnessed in football stands around the globe in 2016. FIFA.com users were able to vote online for their favourite fan moment and ultimately decided the winner of the 2016 FIFA Fan Award.

The 2016 FIFA Fair Play Awardw was decided by a panel of football experts and was presented on stage on 9 January at The Best FIFA Football Awards!
