Portugal's FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup accolades continue to pile up, with captain Madjer taking home Goal of the Tournament honours to add to his Bronze Ball and Silver Scorer awards. The host country's captain perfectly executed a sweet first-time volley - assisted by an excellent distribution from Madjer's goalkeeper - from halfway that picked out the top corner, a goal which sent the Espinho crowd into delirium.
Portugal were in control with a 4-2 lead, though Switzerland were building late momentum in the quarter-final clash when Madjer struck. The hometown hero received a pass from Andrade and struck a remarkable volley with his left foot, which arced towards the top corner and left the opposition goalkeeper with no chance. In the end, Portugal won 7-3 to reach the semi-finals en route to their maiden Beach Soccer World Cup.
A fantastic overhead strike from Tahiti's Tearii Labaste against Paraguay during the group stage came a close second in the voting. The podium was rounded off by another overhead strike, assisted and scored by Iranian Mohammad Ahmadzadeh against Mexico during their Group C encounter.
